Peak Illumination 4:16 am EST

Welcome to the captivating Full Moon in Gemini! For those new to this blog, let me provide a brief overview of the astrological significance of the Full Moon period. During a Full Moon, the Sun and Moon directly oppose each other in the zodiac. From Earth, we see the Moon fully illuminated. The Moon represents our emotions which can make us emotionally vulnerable and visible during the full Moon. Oppositions present an opportunity to examine the balance or paradox between two forces. Often, we must release something in order to restore equilibrium between these forces. This month's full Moon occurs in the sign of Gemini, opposing the Sun in Sagittarius.

Busy Mind Versus Bigger Picture

Gemini represents the present moment, our thoughts, perceptions, and mind. On the other end of this axis lies Sagittarius, which embodies the ability to see the bigger picture. Ruled by the swift-moving planet Mercury, Gemini constantly absorbs information, and on a bad day can manifest as restlessness, anxiety, or excessive mental activity. Our busy minds can certainly play tricks on us sometimes! In contrast, Sagittarius, governed by Jupiter, encourages us to transcend our limited perspectives, embrace a broader outlook and expand ourselves.

Consider the disparity between the viewpoint of the immediate realm and that if we zoom our lenses out. Imagine observing a landscape from the ground, and then envision the same landscape from a helicopter view. The helicopter vantage point offers a completely different view compared to what we can see at ground level. Sagittarius urges us to break free from our ground level preconceived notions and escape the confines of our own minds by seeing things from a higher perspective!

Perception is Reality?

Gemini gathers information from the immediate world around us. That is- what we are perceiving. We are conditioned to adopt certain beliefs about ourselves and the world, influenced by our parents and their own inherited beliefs. These patterns and conditioning are passed down through generations. Thankfully, in recent times, old ideas and outdated beliefs have started to be challenged! It requires conscious effort to examine our belief systems and determine if they truly align with our most authentic selves.

Limitations

Speaking of outdate beliefs, Saturn which rules traditions and structures, squares this full Moon axis. We all experience limitations to some extent, which can provide a sense of security and grounding. As a fun example, I find comfort in knowing that I am an "ordinary citizen" and do not have to make presidential decisions. However, limitations can also hinder our growth. When we hold onto false beliefs ingrained by conditioning, it takes conscious effort to reassess and discard what no longer aligns with our highest selves. Saturn does rule traditions, which can offer comfort and safety. Yet, blindly adhering to traditions that no longer feel good is likely not in our best interest.

Mercury, as the ruler of Gemini, is currently in Sagittarius and forming a square with Neptune. The planet Neptune can induce confusion, and Mercury, already a busy sign, is often limited by surface-level perceptions of our immediate surroundings. This may create a sense that things are not as they appear. This is yet another invitation to zoom out frequently and analyze situations not just with our minds, but also with our hearts. While Sagittarius enjoys gaining a broader perspective, it primarily deals with human realms and perspectives. Neptune, on the other hand, urges us to look beyond the veil which may add to the confusion surrounding this full Moon.

Act

Opposing this full Moon is Mars, the planet of action, drive, and passion. This may evoke a desire to act, but with a feeling of uncertainty about the course or direction. Remember, things are not always what they seem! The invitation now is to view things from the highest possible human perspective. Avoid making hasty, poorly executed choices. Be mindful of being drawn to situations that do not serve your highest good. It is crucial to tune into your body for answers. What is your gut feeling truly telling you, and are you listening?

For this month Saturn is really reminding us to examine our relationship with customs, structures, and traditions. With the holiday season upon us, we will have plenty of opportunites to apply this! Just because something has always been done a certain way does not mean it serves our highest and greatest good. As I have mentioned in many of my blogs, growth rarely occurs within our comfort zones. We are currently being challenged to dismantle structures, reevaluate our perceptions of the world, and push ourselves to gain new perspectives or see things through a different lens!

Offering

With this full Moon energy, I offer you the opportunity to pick one habit in your life to analyze. This habit can be something you view as positive or challenging. Take some time to reflect upon where this habit came from and how it is serving you now. Is this habit a product of conditioning? Is it bringing you joy now? Does anyone in your lineage have a similar habit? Sit with these questions, reflect and journal. This exercise can challenge you to expand your mind and gain some Sagittarius perspective!

With much full Moon Love and Gratitude!
